Divana Olivas was raised by Mexican-immigrant parents in Los Lunas, New Mexico. She is currently a PhD candidate in American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California. Her dissertation is an interdisciplinary project that centers racialized communities in New Mexico and their responses to the capitalist production of foodstuffs. Divana is a curriculum and evaluation consultant for the Food Leaders Lab program. She is passionate about food as a unique site for leadership development, cultural resistance and transformation.
